Lyrics

I got [C]out the decorations
We put [F]up the tree tonight
The [C]year has come around
It's the season of [G]light

[C]We’ve had ups and downs
We [F]don’t know what’s ahead
We’re [C]grateful for so many things
As we [G]put the year to [C]bed

[F]Cookies in the oven
[C]Smell so heavenly
We’re [F]planning get to[Am]gethers
With [C]friends and [G]family

[C]Neighbors’ houses
Are [F]cheery and so bright
We [C]celebrate together
The [G]season of [C]light

The [C]days have gotten shorter
The [F]nights have gotten cold
[C]Songs of the season
Play on the [G]radio

There’ll be [C]candy in the stockings
[F]Toys under the tree
[C]Presents for the ones we love
I [G]hope there’s one for [C]me

[F]It is a time for giving,
[F]Kindness and charity.
A [F]time for re[Am]membering
[C]Those who are in [G]need

[C]Now we light the candles
[F]Such a pretty sight
We [C]celebrate together
The [G]season of [C]light
